Three projects to start implementing in June through BMN small grants assistance

For the fifth time, Balkan Museum Network has been offering an opportunity to it’s members to gain support for their project idea through the small grants assistance mechanism.

Through more than thirty projects implemented since its establishment in 2006, BMN has supported project that raise the level of access and inclusion to culture and heritage, projects that offer opportunity to all members of the community to actively participate in the cultural life of the community and projects that bring people together and erase barriers.

This year, in total eight projects have been submitted for funding. Three applications have been awarded an assistance in total amount of 12.000,00 EUR.

Awarded projects are:

  1. “Shkodran Memories: Stories of Communism Passed Down”, implemented by The Site of Witness and Memory (part of Shkodra Historical Museum) together with Consulting and Development Partners (NGO), Albania
  2. “HI(STORY) FUNHOUSE”, implemented by the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina & EDUS (Education for all, Association for advancement of education and support for children with and without developmental delays)
  3. “Museum 4 all – Museum 2 go!”, implemented by the Homeland Museum of Knjaževac, Serbia

We would like to congratulate to chosen participants and to thank all the others for applying. Balkan Museum Network will keep offering opportunities for individual and institutional growth, and we hope to cooperate with all of our members more closely in the future.

Small grants assistance was enabled through the project “Crafting access”, financed by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and managed by the Cultural Heritage without Borders office in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
